Austin, Texas (1/2)

7:00 PM

Well our trip to Austin was a total dream boat ya’ll. First of all, I have to talk about where we stayed. I don’t know how many of you have heard of Airbnb, but it’s a fantastic, cheap, and incredible way to travel. You can stay in private rooms or houses of natives to the city (all over the world) in really cool places at low rates. This is the 5th time I’ve used Airbnb and it’s yet to let me down.

We stayed on Lamar just South of the city and within walking distance to South Congress, where we spent most of our time. We stayed in a carriage house behind the home of a wonderful couple and if you’re visiting Austin, I highly recommend staying here. It had all the amenities and our bed was so comfortable, Big A and I got some much needed sleep and felt right at home.

Our first night really set the tone for the entire weekend: relaxing. We got into Austin around 4, checked in, took a long stroll, went shopping, grabbed some dinner at a fantastic (low key) spot, Lucy’s Fried Chicken, and later had some coffee at a recommendation of our Airbnb host: Patika. Then we hit the sack and got 12 hours of sleep.

Now that’s what I call vacation.
our bed was up this ladder that overlooked the entire carriage house.
