Mexico (3/4) - Cozumel Edition
9:52 AM
This was by far my favorite part of our vacation.
At the Chankanaab National Park in Cozumel, we took the opportunity
to swim with manatees. We could’ve chosen dolphins, but I’m so glad we didn’t because
this turned out to be an incredible experience.
Truthfully we didn’t really know what to expect, but what we
got what was an hour and half, just the three of us, feeding and swimming with 5
manatees, including a little baby one! We fed them lettuce and fruits as they
swarmed us with their large bodies. They might be slow, but they were strong
and sweet.
Post Manatee experience - before we could even dry off, Big
A and I made our way to a private pool to swim with a sea lion. She was so
quick, slick, and had the sharpest teeth. We didn’t feed her but we did play
and watch her tricks.
The ocean is full of some of the most beautiful creatures
and I feel so lucky to have been able to see them up close and personal.
